Almaden Lake Park Guide
Almaden Lake Park is the central outdoor gathering spot for Almaden Valley residents. The park surrounds a man-made lake on Almaden Expressway and offers walking paths, playgrounds, sports facilities, and picnic areas.
The Lake
The lake covers several acres and is ringed by a paved path of approximately 1.3 miles. The path accommodates joggers, walkers, stroller pushers, and cyclists. On weekend mornings, the path is busy with runners and families. Fishing is allowed seasonally with a California fishing license.
Playground and Facilities
The park features a large playground suitable for ages two through twelve, with both traditional and modern play structures. Restrooms, drinking fountains, and picnic tables with barbecue grills are spread throughout the park. A sand volleyball court and open lawn areas provide additional recreation options.
Parking and Access
The main parking lot is accessible from Almaden Expressway. Parking fills quickly on weekend mornings during good weather, especially during farmers market days. Walking or biking to the park is practical for residents in nearby neighborhoods.
Events
Almaden Lake Park hosts the seasonal farmers market, community gatherings, and outdoor fitness classes. The open lawn areas accommodate informal sports games and family picnics.
Dogs
Leashed dogs are allowed on the paved path. No dogs are permitted in playground areas or on the grass near the children’s play structures.
